Research Objectives

  • Analyze external icon libraries for inspiration and best practices.

  • Ensure the new icons are usable across various sizes and styles.

Methodology

External Research: Conducted a comprehensive review of external icon libraries to gather inspiration and identify trends.

Internal Needs Assessment: Collaborated with different teams to understand their specific icon needs.

Iteration: Developed multiple iterations of icons in various sizes and styles (filled and outline).

Process

Research and Analysis: Conducted research on external icons and gathered internal requirements.

Design Iterations: Created initial icon designs in various sizes and styles, iterating based on feedback.

Feedback Loop: Presented icon iterations to the design team for feedback and refinement.

Localization Review: Collaborated with the localization team to ensure icons are appropriate and understandable in different languages and cultures.

Finalization: Selected the final icon designs and created a comprehensive component set in Figma, including RTL (right-to-left) versions.

Development Handoff: Provided the finalized icon set and necessary documentation to the development team for implementation.

Collaboration

Design Team: Regularly engaged with the design team to refine icon designs based on usability and aesthetic feedback.

Localization Team: Worked with the localization team to ensure icons are culturally sensitive and appropriately localized.
